Introduction

We generally ask our children, “what do you want to be after your studies?”  The answer normally comes from the children, I want to be a Doctor or Scientist or Astronaut or  Actor/Actress or  Miss Universe, etc. Some children who know little about some personalities, they would say, “I want to be like Mahatma Gandhi or Abraham Lincoln or Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam or Albert Einstein”, etc.

Dr David Schwartz, PhD asked his six-year-old son, David when he finished his kindergarten.  He asked him what he plans to be when he grows up.  He answered his father, “Dad, I want to be a professor”.  “A professor?  A professor of what?”, he asked.  David replied, “I want to be professor of happiness.”  Dr  David Schwartz, PhD wrote a book “The Magic of Thinking BIG” which became very famous.

This communication leads to reflection of Personality and brings out the readiness of the persons to reach a great personality with required Personality Development.

I am reading this book.  This is very attractive and interesting book with  practical experience and with thesis topics.

You Can Win“: A Step By Step Tool For Top Achievers is a best-selling self-help book by an author, educator, business consultant and a successful entrepreneur, he is a much sought-after speaker Mr. Shiv Khera. He inspires and encourages people, making them realise their true potential.Success is a hard commodity to obtain. … Transforming negative thoughts into positive ones is the key, he reveals, and this book follows his motto of translating thoughts into winning actions.

I read this book on a daily basis, highlighted/underlined all the important words of this book and I tried hard to implement all the positive thoughts in my daily professional life.  This definitely gave me an exponential growth and success in my career.  I got promoted to Assistant Director from the position of Regional Head of an organization.  I also used to counsel and guide all my subordinates with these ideas which they also found very useful.

Empower yourself and grow exponentially. A practical, common sense guide that will help you:· Build confidence by mastering the seven steps to positive thinking· Be successful by turning weaknesses into Positive Attitude

Change of ATTITUDE

Who is my Role Model and  Why?

This is based on the actual experience.  I visited almost all the Engineering Colleges of Gujarat State, India, at least 50% of the colleges in Maharashtra State and many colleges in Madhya Pradesh, India for Career Development Programs.  One of the most famous questions prevailing in the colleges is, “Who is your Role Model and Why?”.  This question is being asked during the interview for fresh graduates.  The common answer that would come from most of the students would be, “My father or my mother”.  In some of the cases the answer would be other relatives.  Also some of the students would mention about a great personality.

A role model is a person whose behavior, example, practical experience or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people, who are willing or dreaming to grow to extent or more to such persons.

Importance of  Personality Development Skills

Have you ever wondered why some people have continued with success, while others have experienced endless failures?

Why do some people never reach their goals?

Why are they  always frustrated with reversals and crisis?

Successful people have achieved Success with Discipline as their normal life style; whether in the field of sports, athletics, academics or business or profession.

Some people ‘without discipline’ try to do ‘everything’, but commit themselves to ‘nothing’.

Some people interpret “lack of discipline” as “freedom”.

When you are sitting in aircraft you would want a pilot who is well disciplined and who does exactly what he is supposed to do and not what he feels like doing.  The pilot cannot say, “I am free to do whatever I want.  I don’t want anyone from the control  tower telling me what to do.”

Lack of consistency is poor discipline.  Discipline takes self-control, sacrifice, and avoiding distractions and temptations.  It means staying focused on goals, results and finally achieving success.

Personality development enables us to discover our qualities.  It empowers us to make the right decisions and to choose wisely.  It builds our Confidence which is the winning quality in us.  Confident people become successful in the long run

It assists us in communicating effectively, convincingly, and precisely.  Once we know how to develop personality, we will be seen as a leader by our peers and colleagues.  It attracts more people and you become the Role Model for others who would follow your views, ideas and principles. It finally makes us a Great Personality.
